Pondu (Pounded Cassava Leaves)

Serves 6


  • 500g Cassava leaves already pounded
  • 1 MAGGI Pondu Tablet
  • 3 clove Garlic minced
  • 4 tablespoons, Palm oil
  • 2 pieces, Leek, chopped
  • 1 piece, Onion, chopped
  • 1 pieces green pepper, chopped
  • 1 piece Courgette, chopped
  • 2 pieces Eggplant, cubed
  • 1 piece, dried Fish, salted, or smoked


  1. Bring the pounded cassava to boil in a large pot, and boil for 20 minutes.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients to the greens and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer. Do not stir.
  3. Simmer until the water is mostly gone and the greens are cooked to a pulp. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. To have a complete balanced meal, serve with chicken, meat, or fish as main course, and Baton de Manioc, fufu or Rice.
