Baked Cheese Cake

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Baking Time: 60 minutes

Serves:  6-8

Ingredients:

  1. ½ packet Marie biscuits, crushed
  2. 80g butter, melted
  3. 10ml (2 tsp) sugar
  4. 2ml (½ tsp) cinnamon
  5. 2 x 250g creamed cottage cheese
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1 can (290g) Nestlé Dessert Cream
  8. 30ml (2 Tbsp) lemon juice
  9. 125ml (½ cup) sugar
  10. 30ml (1 Tbsp) flour
  11. 10ml (2 tsp) Crosse & Blackwell custard powder
  12. 1ml (¼ tsp) salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
  2. Mix biscuit crumbs, butter, sugar and cinnamon together.
  3. Press into a greased loose-bottomed cake pan.
  4. Mix cottage cheese, eggs, flour, custard powder and salt together.
  5. Add Nestlé Dessert Cream and lemon juice and mix well.
  6. Add sugar gradually and beat.
  7. Pour mixture onto base.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes then reduce heat to 150° C for 30 minutes.
  9. Switch off oven and allow cheesecake to cool in the oven.
  10. When cooled, place in the fridge until well chilled.
  11. Loosen and remove from the pan.
  12. Serve decorated with fresh fruit if desired.
