A 16 member football team from Kenya will be leaving for
Johannesburg, South Africa to participate in the Nestlé MILO U13 African Champions
Tournament scheduled for the 6th to 10th May,2010.
The Pan African tournament which features players around the age of 13 years will
bring together other teams from the host nation South Africa, as well as from Ghana,
Nigeria, and Ivory Coast.
Nestlé MILO has partnered with the Ministry of Education to develop sports in primary schools through the introduction of extracurricular activities. Thus since 2009 Nestlé MILO is sponsoring the Ministry of Education Ball Games.
Flagging off the team, the Minister for Education Prof. Samson Ongeri thanked Nestlé MILO for the sponsorship and reiterated the ministry's commitment to the development of extracurricular activities in schools.
“We are delighted that Nestlé MILO has come in again to support this year's Primary Schools Ball Games. The team of 16 who will be representing Kenya in Nestlé MILO U13 African Champions Tournament is the product of this collaboration and we are wishing the entire contingent leaving for South Africa the best of luck as they fly Kenya's flag" said Prof. Ongeri.
