Eight social enterprises from Kenya and Uganda plus another from DRC Congo have been shortlisted for an international CHF 500,000 prize for their efforts at addressing needs in good nutrition, safe water and economic opportunities.
Those shortlisted for the prize include TruTrade, Farmers Pride, SimGas Kenya and Amref Africa’s Leap all based in Kenya. Nuscafe, Jibu, Spouts of Water and KadAfrica Estate Limited from Uganda and ‘Farms for Orphans’ from DRC. The nine organizations are among 56 organizations shortlisted globally for the
Nestlé’s 2018 Creating Shared Value Prize,
which attracted over 1000 entries from Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
