Nestlé EAR (Equatorial African Region) today announces the launch of its globally managed business ‘Nestlé Professional’  extending its global strategy to the high growth region of Equatorial Africa. Nestlé Professional (NP) delivers branded food and beverage solutions to foodservice operators. Nestlé Professional is committed to serving the local foodservice industry with its expertise and knowledge in creating quality culinary and beverage products. In this respect, Mr. Marc Caira, Executive Board Member of the Nestlé Group and Global Head of Nestlé Professional, is currently in Nairobi, accompanied by Mr. Friedrich Mahler, President of NP in Asia, Oceania and Africa.

Globally, Nestlé Professional is present in over 100 countries with over 10,000 employees. With the consumption trends clearly showing an increase in portion of every dollar spent for food and drinks by consumers out of home, it is a great opportunity for Nestlé Professional to enter the Equatorial Africa market to extend its expertise to the foodservice operators with a commitment to nutrition, health and wellness.

“Nestlé Professional is one of the key growth pillars for Nestlé globally and launching it in the newly formed Equatorial African Region is a strategic extension of that priority. We would like to offer our consumers around the EAR the whole palette of Nestlé offerings and Nestlé Professional is a step in that direction,” elaborates the Nestlé EAR Market head, Pierre Trouilhat. “We want to have the first mover advantage here in the EAR region. We are well aware of the dynamic economic activity that has been taking place in this region and we want to bring our global expertise and tailor it for the local market,” adds Rabie Issa, Country Business Manager, Nestlé Professional EAR.

Nestlé Professional EAR will offer a wide range of Nestlé global products in the local markets like MAGGI®, MILO®, NESCAFÉ®, NESTLÉ DRINKING CHOCOLATE® and NESTEA®. In addition to offering these brands in the regional market Nestlé Professional will also hire and train local talent who understand the foodservice industry and provide professional services and solutions to its customers. Nestlé Professional intends to reach its customers via direct sales, distributors and other means to delight consumers with their products.

Nestlé factories in the EAR region are gearing to add production lines for Nestlé Professional specific products. The Kenya factory has already added a production line to cater for Nestlé Professional. Nairobi will be the hub for Nestlé Professional, coordinating activities for the whole of the Equatorial African region. “First with the launch of Nestlé EAR and now Nestlé Professional, the Nestlé Group has once again reaffirmed its commitment to Africa,” says Mr Trouilhat.

“Nestlé Professional with its strong research and development focus will surely add value to the foodservice industry both here in Kenya and in rest of the Equatorial African region. Our aim is to meet the needs of foodservice operators while delighting the out-of-home consumer with our products,” adds Mr Issa.
