Kenya Paediatric Association in collaboration with Nestlé Nutrition Institute for Africa (NNIA) will bring together one of the largest gatherings of paediatricians from Kenya and the East African countries to deliberate on the various issues affecting child health care at the Association’s 12th Annual conference to be held between April 13th and 16th, in Mombasa, Kenya.

Announcing the conference date in Nairobi, Kenya Paediatric Association Chairman Prof. Were said this year’s conference will focus on re-evaluating challenges faced in child health care and put a spotlight on non-communicable childhood diseases.

“The conference will discuss recent practices in neurology, endocrinology, oncology, child & adolescent psychiatry, paediatric critical care, vaccinology, and paediatric rheumatology among other issues,” said Prof. Were.

Nestlé Nutrition Institute for Africa Chairman Prof. Anabwani said the conference will provide an excellent opportunity for professionals, health policy makers and other service providers to interact and create linkages and networks, which is in line with the institute’s mission and vision.

“The Institute fosters “science for better nutrition” because we are convinced that innovative, science-based nutrition can help enhance the quality of people’s lives all over the world and that’s why Nestlé Nutrition Institute for Africa will be participating in the forthcoming Kenya Paediatric Association Annual Conference,” said Prof. Anabwani.

The conference will also feature a satellite workshop on Childhood Nutrition which will be presided over by Prof. Anabwani. In addition to the conference delegates, the workshop will also be attended by members of the recently formed East Africa Paediatric Association (EAPA) composed of delegates from Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda and Eritrea.
