Nestlé Kenya celebrates World Coffee day with NESCAFÉ

Oct 29, 2014

On Monday 29th September, NESCAFÉ joined the rest of the world to celebrate “World Coffee Day”. The day marked the long history of the drink since the 19th Century when coffee beans are believed to have first been discovered in Ethiopia.

This began the experimentation on coffee, with NESCAFÉ playing a key role by being the first to produce instant soluble coffee in 1938. Coffee’s popularity thereafter spread through coffee houses around the world and then into our homes.

Last year, NESCAFÉ celebrated its 75th anniversary and its position as one of the world’s favorite beverages. Among the many coffee benefits is that it is a high source of anti-oxidants, it takes good anyway you like it, and it awakens your senses in a healthy way.

In Kenya, the NESCAFÉ Plan project is a testimony to our commitment towards reducing rural poverty and improving the social and economic status of coffee farmers and their families. Learn morea bout the NESCAFÉ Plan here.

Nestlé Kenya employees joined the world in celebrating World Coffee Day. That morning, all staff were welcomed with a hot cup ofNescafe 3in 1 and a coffee cupcake which had a sprinkle of chocolate flakes.

While the staffs were being showered with NESCAFE treats, another team was out to share a surprise random act of kindness to our key accounts business partners, Tuskys Supermarket, Naivas, Nakumatt and Uchumi. The NESCAFÉ Brand Activation Team continued well into the day ensuring we enjoyed more coffee in the afternoon, and left with a product hamper.

Later in the day, back in Nestlé Kenya offices, the MD, Ms. CiruMiringu cut a cake to seal the celebrations with her team. The cake was shared enjoyed by all.
